A bowl of curry and rice on the table.

Most Native Americans haven’t tried Pakistani foods as they are not found everywhere like traditional foods. But rest assured, whoever has ever tasted Pakistani cuisine; is simply in love with its unique flavor. If you haven’t tasted it yet, you might think it tastes like Indian or Arabic foods, although it isn’t true entirely. Pakistani, Indian, and Arabic dishes have some similarities in the cooking style; however, each has its distinctive taste that you only know by tasting them. In addition, Pakistani and Indian foods use different spices than Arabic foods. Although sometimes Americans might feel Pakistani and Indian foods have one origin, as Pakistan was once a part of India, there are similarities in the dishes and style of eating. Those Americans who get the chance to eat Pakistani food find it delicious, wish to eat it again, and try more traditional Pakistani dishes. Especially, the following four Pakistani dishes are loved by Americans who have tried them:

Biryani

Biryani is the most famous dish of Pakistani origin. It is loved and cherished by everyone who tries it even once. Although it is quite spicy compared to traditional American fast food, Native Americans still find its taste amazing. Almost everyone who has tasted Biryani once demands to eat it again.

Pulao

This Pakistani dish has its roots in Arabic, Persian, and Afghani dishes made from rice and meat. But, Pakistani pulao has its unique style of cooking and flavor. You can say it is similar to rice and meat dishes from other countries, but once you try it, you will know it has a distinct flavor not found in Arabic, Persian, and Afghani food. What makes Pulao a favorite of Americans is that it is not spicy. Rice is cooked in bone broth, but there is no smell; instead, its aroma makes you eat more than you need. It feels like comfort food as you can eat it any day without feeling it is a non-American dish with little to no spiciness and great flavor.

Garlic Naan

Americans love to eat their garlic bread. But once they try Pakistani Garlic Naan, it’s like love at first sight for them. Most Americans are acquainted with Garlic Naan’s flavor and don’t shy to admit that it tastes delicious. In the traditional Pakistani style of eating, these Naans are served with curries like; chicken karahi, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, etc. But, on the contrary, most Americans enjoy it with tea in their breakfast or lunch as they find it similar to Garlic bread.

Samosa and Pakora

Americans, especially Samosas and Pakoras, love Pakistani snacks. They are served hot with chutney in the traditional Pakistani style of eating. But, Americans enjoy it with ketchup, mayo, and other sauces. Samosas and Pakoras are considered Indian by many Americans, as the style of cooking, spices, and ingredients are all similar in the two snacks. These snacks are sometimes spicy but not too spicy for Americans, and they enjoy eating Samosas and Pakoras.
